📌 About ZIL and Governance ZIL (gZIL) token

Zilliqa is the first public blockchain platform to successfully use sharding as a scaling solution. Earlier, when we listed the ZIL token, we talked about the project in our blog post:

Government ZIL (gZIL) is a token that complies with ZRC-2. Users can earn the new token in addition to ZIL strike rewards (0.001 gZIL per 1 ZIL reward earned). The main idea of gZIL tokens is to Attract long-term token holders and give them access to network management.

📌 Use cases for gZIL

According to the team behind Zilliqa, there will be a DAO-like structure that will allow gZIL holders to do that invest in community projects. Together with Zilliqa Research, the community that owns gZILs will be able to vote on proposals and participate in decision-making.

gZIL holders can do that too contribute to Zilliqa’s liquidity pools and get rewarded.

The government’s ZIL has been released since the launch of the non-custodial ZIL strike (October 14, 2020), but only for 1 year. In addition, the maximum gZIL stock is limited to 722,700. The team hopes to increase the gZIL value by creating scarcity and stimulating early user involvement in the restocking program.
